Hello,

Just wondering what the best setting is for the "Output Compression" option in settings? I have had it set at around 6 but wanted to know what the optimum options would be!

Thanks.

I think 4 is pretty optimum. Just be aware that if compression is enabled, and there is a php error, it usually results in a blank page. So if you get a blank page, disable the compression, then reload the page to see the actual error.

Hey Q can you tell me how this type of compression is different to using mod_deflate? Would you still get a blank page using mod_deflate in the case of a php error.

Thanks :D

Hi there

I have just enbabled gzip level 4 as advised, thanks! I've found this great Chrome add-on called YSlow (Yahoo, not Google for a change, who wouldda thunk it).

When I run it I get the same report as before enabling GZIP. I tried deleting my browser cache, but no luck.

Here's the YSlow report. I've asked my host and they have asked me, "Do you have any sort of server-side caching configured in opencart?" Does OC enable server-side cache (other than the image files which I can see)? If so can someone please point me in the right direction of how to clear this.

Mucho gratis Opencarters ;D
