Hi, I recently had a family member purchase a business that was using opencart 1.5.6.3 to run there store. Unfortunately the previous owners payed a long gone company to setup the website for them and have no access to the back end being hosted on. They can however login as admin on the sites back end. We wanted to move the site to a new installation so we actually had control of it. However under the backup page of the site where there should be a list of all tables nothing shows up. Why would this be and is there anyway to fix this without having access to the back end. They really need the old data it's years of customers orders.

With the standard OpenCart Backup function, only the tables, but never the structure will be exported.
If you need both or the structure, you have to use an external tool.
Like phpMyAdmin (which may included in your hosting subscription) or something else.

If you have - like as it seems to be in your case - no access to the server panel, you have to install a database tool like phpMyAdmin, Adminer etc. on the server to perfom a complete backup.

Bad, if you have also no access via FTP (which you should need to install that tool).
In such a case, you could create a extension and install it via the integrated installer - which is available since OpenCart 2.x

But you are using a very old shop version, maybe you are lucky and have already VQMod installed.
If not, you have to contact the hosting company to give you access (after owner verification of course).

The field (see image) should display all existing tables, correct.
But nothing is displayed, have you checked the source - maybe these entries are not visible (because of an unknown reason - the former developer made .. ?).

And before you are wasting time into something, better to use the export function from your database tool.
Because - as written above - to use the database on a new server, you will need the complete structure and tables.
