[SOLVED] Why is the coupon discounting the checkout total and not just the product?

Hello,

I have made a coupon for 20% off and when its used in the checkout it is taking 20% off the grand total.
I just want the coupon discount to take 20% off the product total and not the postage.
Is this possible?

Thank You
Tom

Coupons shouldn't take into account the shipping cost by default. Are you sure you don't have a mod installed that is changing how coupons work? Also double-check that you haven't made your coupon give "free shipping" which will always give a 100% discount on the shipping cost applied to the order.

I am using what came with Opencart

Sales - Coupons

Free shipping is set to No.

Any other thoughts?

Look at the mods you have installed. This is not how a default OpenCart installation works, so you have to have something installed that is changing this.

For example, see the attached screenshot. This is a 10% coupon, which is only applying to products in the cart, not the $5.00 shipping cost.

Thanks for you input Johnathan

I have just uninstalled our custom checkout extension and re installed it.

Seemed to do the job for now
