Hi, why the opencart 1.5.6.4 does not generate image in opencart sitemap.xml? while other version of opencart +2.0 has image in xml sitemap. Please, how to add image on my opencart 1.5.6.4??
Also, both /sitemap.xml and /index.php?route=feed/google_sitemap works good, but after submiting sitemap.xml to google, nothing indexed, see attached picture, please help how to get my page indexed in google and add image in sitemap, thanks in advance!

sitemap.xml is just a redirect to /index.php?route=feed/google_sitemap (see your .htaccess file)
From the screenshot, I see no errors reported by Google, so it is just a matter of time for some or all of those pages to be indexed, if Googles deems them worthy of being indexed and you have not blocked them in robots.txt or the individual page META content.
Images were only added to the default OC sitemap in version 2.x(something), hence why they are missing in 1.5.x

thanks for reply, do you suggest to me to add image for my oc 1.5.6.4? or keep it without image. Which one is better? also, do you think if I download the sitemap.xml generate by opencart and upload it to my server is good then using the redirect in htaccess?uksitebuilder wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2017 12:23 amsitemap.xml is just a redirect to /index.php?route=feed/google_sitemap (see your .htaccess file)

by the way, my robots.txt is
Code: Select all
user-agent: *
Disallow: /*&limit
Disallow: /*&sort
Disallow: /*?route=checkout/
Disallow: /*?route=account/
Disallow: /*?route=product/search
Disallow: /*?route=affiliate/
thanks in advance!
All you need to do is submit sitemap.xml to Google Webmaster Tools
If you want an images sitemap, you will need to add it or download one of the many sitemap extensions available in the marketplace.

robots.txt file looks fine to me, nothing there that would block any standard product pages etc

Well, I am not yet familiar with this Google imagemap thing, but this extension
just seems to generate an 'actual' Listing of Product Image Links and Product Titles,
as it looks. And since this list is NOT beeing stored somewhere, I assume, that
it will be called by Google, when looking for such images.

Just to let you know

Hello Ernie!
Is your imagemap indexed by google if you have a look in your Google search console?
Thanks for the earlier :amp issue with that sitemap but in my case Google does not index any of my images in that imagemap. So something is still wrong....

Well, I did not activate anything such on my test sites so far, in contrary, I
even remove header code, related to Google. But I have multiple search
engines, among Google, indexing my sites on a daily schedule, probably
because I also publish content, links and images in this place. But the URL's
I use for OC Tests are indexed for quite a long time already, so, I cannot judge.
Sorry!
