I'm switching hosting companies and I just noticed something. In the Server section of my Admin area it says:
Use SSL:
To use SSL check with your host if a
SSL certificate is installed and added [add?]
the SSL URL to the admin config file.
However, I just looked in the config.php file in my Admin directory, and there is no URL given for the SSL. Why then is my cart functioning as if there is an SSL associated with it?
Your question is rather confusing. Do you have SSL (certificate) installed on THIS host? Has DNS already been switched over to point to this new host, or are you still pointing to the old host? Do your configure.php files list https: for what are supposed to be SSL-protected pages, and SSL is enabled in the files? Are you trying to run the entire site under SSL, and if so, do you have a redirect (rewrite) in .htaccess rewriting http to https?
All my problems have now been fixed by the new hosting company.
However, I'm still curious why my version of OpenCart says this:
Use SSL:
To use SSL check with your host if a
SSL certificate is installed and
added the SSL URL to the admin
config file. _ Yes _ No
There is no mention of the SSL in the config.php file, so I guess that must not be necessary.
Incidentally, I've moved to InMotion Hosting. It took only a couple days for them to transfer my sites from my old host. All I had to do was to update the new directory name in the config.php file for OpenCart, and the cart was working perfectly.
