Product prices default to zero

Hi
Running Version 1.5.6.1
and just had a seconds occurrence where a product sold and rather than the correct price coming up plus shipping it only charged shipping. Not sure why. Cured it last time it happened by copying the product and then deleting the original product. Anyone any ideas why and what to do about it.
