Well, quite many responsive Themes exist for OC v.1.5.6.4 (+), some of them
for free, and basically, TWO kinds of 'doing this' exist, one, as simple Solution,
partly by use of some DEFAULT Theme Files as well, and it goes up to full responsive
Bootstrap-type Theme Layouts, such as used in OC-2, and by full use of HTML5.

By use of such modern Bootstrap Themes, most existing extensions, doing their Job
on 'visible' Site-Pages, will likely require to rewrite the VqMods a little, to then 'act' in the
place, where they are expected to do their Job on Front Side Theme Pages.

Other Theme EXTENSIONS, like Pavo, Journal, e.t.c., not only update the visible Page, but likely
add their own Functions and Changes, by adding system-related Files, and Functions,
so, one has to be careful, not just to buy something, looking SWELL in first view, but
better make sure, a Theme Upgrade will NOT force someone, to rework the entire Shop.
---
PEKU offers a genious Version, an OC-2 default Theme, built into the latest v.1.5.6.5_rc,
and it even provides OcMod, by default! :D I created some Extensions, but finally still kept
VqMod as default and SOLE Solution, by easy disabling the OcMod Functions again.
It's cheap, and it works well , I tested it out, some time ago:
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=27779
---
MERKENT Theme offers an outstanding Theme, based on Bootstrap3, and/but they changed some
things around, and now use 'common' grid - list - form - e.t.c.- Sections, to 'unify' layouts, and makes it
so simpler to change details, on the other hand, DEFAULT LATEST/FAVORITES/e.t.c.- Modules have no
more Function, it's all done by a new Module Control. It also includes 2 different Layout CSS Files. It's
the one, I presently use, in a slightly :laugh: modified Form:
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=16822
---
I also tested this one, it's very nice to 'handle', and the one of my two Favorites, whenever I finally
decide, wich one to use 'by default' :D
OC Bootstrap - Opencart Bootstrap 3 Theme - Front End
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=14631
---
The quite many free YooCart Themes belong to the simpler built Themes, but they work, and not bad,
and it only takes some minor adjustments, to make 'em do their Job.
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... responsive
---
And others exist as well in the Extension Section. But if you are not an OC-Insider,better not chose one,
adding a lot of stuff into your Admin Section, like the AGNES Theme,
https://www.opencart.com/index.php?rout ... n_id=18800
because then, it could take some time, just to get familiar with all those new settings, partly possible,
but in most cases and Themes not even required, to create a nice looking Front.
---
I would take the latest OC v.1.5.6.5_rc release, it contains important fixes over 1.5.6.4, found here:
http://www.bigmax.ch/shop/index.php?rou ... ation_id=4
and place in it's own sub and DB, then, play around a while, and find out, what Theme matches
your requirements best !

Good Luck :)

Negative, it's exactly the same, when it comes to extensions.
You could actually fully overwrite an existing 1.5.6.4 Shop Source, to just make it work.
But still, and if you plan to use a Responsive Theme, create another Site and just use
a COPY of your existing DB, to test it all out first.
---
You just have to enable all the Modules again, by use of the Admin User Group
Section, and then recheck every Module, to again have it's values, just to make sure.
Just VqMod needs to be re-installed, to add it's content to the 'virgin' index.php
files again.

OpenCart change log v1.5.6.5 (Pending)
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/bl ... angelog.md
and you could still 'get' it on this Site as well, if you know, where to click! :D 8)
Or then, you could just download each one of the modified files, and upload them
onto your shop, just to mention this, but it's some work, to 'handle' GITHUB... :-\

well, you just downloaded the DEFAULT OC v.1.5.6.5_rc, and this Version does NOT include
MaxD’s great OpenShop-Extension for OC 1.5.6.x, also linked on the same page, as probably shown,
even in enhanced Form, somewhere on an image. And since I created uncounted masses of images
and shops already, so better let me see the image, you're talking about, then, I can tell you more on,
how it's been done and of what it consists... :D

i maked a responsive theme but not using boostrap or something . i opened a new stylesheet css for responsive theme ...
i use this fanction on css ...
@media only screen and (min-width: 980px) {}

but on the list style for category pages or product pages , the texts and buttons become mixed becuase of narrow display .

is there any way to make list or grid pages to decrase the css completely %80 or something ... becuase it it hard to make all the css changes ...

for example

@media only screen and (min-width: 600px) {
.product-list > div {
decrease the size %80
}

}

??? thanks ...

try this:

Code: Select all

@media only screen and (min-width: 600px) {
.product-list > div {
    max-width: 80% !important;
whereby, I am not sure, if the !important value is valid/useful in DIV 'frame'- type settings.
you may check on that by use of google ;)

Code: Select all

@media only screen and (min-width: 600px) {
.product-list > div {
    max-width: 80% !important;
is supposed to change the width!
otherwise, if you want to change the height, use
min-height and/or max-height
