People who are still using IE6 are the elderly or non-tech types that will just think they have a virus and won't figure out that it was caused by your site.

Re: FANTASTIC NEWS! IE6 FINALLY BEING KILLED
OSX so bounce between safari and chrome
Both suck!
normally have mail, sql viewer, console for errors and bbedit for text editing open + browser.
Chrome sucks up memory like a mad man but yet disperses it through different threads. I have 4 windows with about 10+ tabs each. Out of 2 gigs ram I have like 13mb free. Tricky dog, makes it hard for you to content it all up.
Safari sucks memory but at least let's you view it all at once. Safari will also go crap on you once you beyond 40tabs.
I do lots of refreshing while coding so it's really rough on the browsers.
Which is better? LOL I switch between the 2 and can never make up my mind.
Firefox ... meh ... never got into it. I was a strong camino user untll chrome and safari became useable.
opera ... maybe some day
Wonder what ie9 could handle?

I have to agree that the few users who are afraid to upgrade their browser, afraid to upgrade their flashplayer, etc., are also going to be afraid to use their credit card online as well.
That kind of mentality isn't going to be limited to their browser alone.

Re: FANTASTIC NEWS! IE6 FINALLY BEING KILLED
Today I read that people who still uses IE6 have a low IQ
Gebruikers Internet Explorer 6 hebben laag IQ.
IQ turns out to be arround 80, while people with an IQ of 130 use Opera

About the only thing I could understand on that page was "die Internet Explorer".

cuz they're dumber than a bag of hammers?
..It's supposedly because of in-house applications which were designed to work only with IE6, ie not future-proofed for whatever reason. Like Intel
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/what-ente ... =mncol;txt
..though it looks like Intel's Win7 deployment hasn't been as bad as they feared.
So who knows, maybe the corporate heel-draggers will catch up soon. Please!

Re: FANTASTIC NEWS! IE6 FINALLY BEING KILLED
You see, all you have to do is understand that keeping around ie6 is great for all the LuLz
Saves a crap load on advertising when you can get your name in the newspapers, on the net and magazines for free!
Financial Institutions using ie6 should be sued for malicious conduct and malpractice! Even M$ knows better than keep to keep that crap going!
Screw the cops, FBI and CIA for chasing a bunch of script kiddies. Why aren't they out there targeting the spammers and companies that blatantly have crappy security! LuLzBoiz proved that simply

Of course it was a hoax. Who could possibly believe that Opera users have the highest IQ?

That's right. When Microsoft released IE7, they stated that it was a "mandatory security fix" for IE6. They were so serious about the security implications, that they later removed the validation so people who were/are using pirated copies of WindowsXP (and earlier) could update their copy of IE6.
