OpenCart has stopped supporting PHP4 since about version 0.6.5, when Daniel decided to make a decision and move to using PHP5.

The main reason for this was because PHP5 supports true object orientated programming, unlike PHP4.

The PHP Group officially discontinued support for PHP 4 on 2007-12-31.

Our intention is to make it clear that PHP4 is no longer supported and that you will require PHP5 or above to run OpenCart. We recommend PHP 5.2 or above.

For more information on this please see the GoPHP5 campaign website, which we are supporting.

Note: Not sure what version of PHP you are running? See phpinfo().
