Do not install an alpha or beta on a live store. Unless you're a developer or want to test things out for bugs, wait until OpenCart 3.1 is officially released before updating a store with it.

If you want to get 3.1 alpha to do that, then you can get it from the first post of this topic.

Which is why, the definite link has been mentioned on the first post on where to specifically download the alpha release.

It's great that now we have a new version available but it is disappointing that it is not stable yet. Oh well, we don't live in a perfect world and will be waiting for all the errors to be fixed soon.

and when do you plan a stable version? :crazy:
Fellows, PLEASE get reasonable, do you really expect somebody to know,
when a stable Version of something will be ready ? Not even Microsoft would
know such, otherways, there would be no MS-Updates for existing Windows
Versions needed ever !

And OC has not 100's of Testers employed, it's YOUR DUTY, as PART of those
OC Testers, to find out, where and what is still missing, or does not work. That's
the main Reason, why OC comes for FREE, otherways, why should anyone build
such a comprehensive Software for free? Just to make you happy ?! :laugh:
Got it ?
What a bunch of dreamers...

Ok Guys,

Finally after many months a new version is nearly ready.

Please remember this is an alpha release and should not be used on a live site. Its also recommended to use php 7 or above.

Added
Bootstrap 4
You could add an bottstrap "lite" files, adding only things used by opencart on bootstrap .css / .js files
Using this tool:
https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.3/customize/
Bootstrap on open-cart has so many unused components
EDIT: just saw they haven't made this customize download for 4.0 yet :(

SSL can check eg. to this way:

Code: Select all

if(isset($this->request->sever['HTTPS'])){
 // Use https
}
Is no need use config_secure setting.

As long as they are thoroughly testing this release, I think it is good that the stable version is not released yet. I have seen plenty of posts where people were not happy about releases coming without enough testing.

mixed ssl is gone. its ssl or non ssl. why did i do this? because google requires all sites to be full ssl and even gives high ranking to full ssl sites.

makes coding easier as well

Well, it never did, at least not be default. But the Contributor of this Extension
will be happy, to create one for you, if you're willing to pay for his engagement,
I assume... ;)
