Have just downloaded and installed a copy. On first impressions it looks great. I've got an error message though at the bottom of the home page. Can anyone help?

Great news - any chance of an updated roadmap - the one at: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/wi ... rt-Roadmap is hopelessly stale.

Just some idea of proposed 3.0 move Alpha -> Beta -> RC etc approx timelines?

Ta, Mark

I'm trying to upload ocmod - and it gives me "Invalid file type!"
What should be the form to upload this ocmod.
example.ocmod.xml
Thanks

Wouldn't that be nice? Looks like they've skipped the beta and RC altogether, this appears to be an official release!

This is a folder permission issue. Change the permissions on the folders in your system/storage/ directory to 0777 and see if that fixes it.

You need to upload a xxx.ocmod.zip file - You can no longer upload an xxx.ocmod.xml file without it being in a zip archive

The contents of the zip file should be as follows:

install.xml (optional if you wish to use ocmod to override oc core files)
upload folder (optional if you wish to upload new files)

The upload folder is restrictive as to where you can put new files

See the list on this post for details: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=183105&start=40#p676663

Any other files you upload will trigger a warning/error on upload

Is it so much better that we should consider upgrading from 2.0.1.1.?

Hello.
From Alpha Release to Stable ?! Weird , but if its bugs free and we can install it on live e-shops where ppls make their living from them then Ok I will understand it !
Do we have any upgrade procedure from 2.3.0.2 ?
Any changes at the database or folders we shall remove from 2.3.0.2 ?
Thanks

From my first tests, it looks like OC 3.0.0.0 is visible slower than OC 2.x.
I haven't had time to analyze it (maybe in the next days), but is it because of the twig?

Things to think about before upgrading...
Upgrades, especially from 2.x to 3.x are the equivalent of buying a new car. Your existing paint job, wheels, mods, etc are not carried over to your new car. They have to be rebuilt. Keep this in mind before you think about upgrading. It is also recommended that you use an upgrade service by someone who is familiar with the upgrade process as they can save you time and money in the long run. But they also need time to try the upgrade with the latest version and see what the process needs to be.
  • Never upgrade on Day 1 release. Give it at least 2 weeks for people to find bugs and any nuances
  • Don't upgrade if your store is currently successful. There is no point in upgrading just to upgrade. Remember you are running a store to make money, not to be a bleeding edge cart tester. If you crash your store because you chose to upgrade too soon without planning, then you are losing money.
  • There were major changes from 2.x to 3.x, especially in the templating area which affects most mods and all themes. Most 3rd party mods and themes will need to be updated and that takes weeks to months. Depending on the severity of the changes, Many mods may need to be rewritten from scratch so there may be new fees associated with updated versions.
  • Upgrades to OpenCart, or most other platforms, are not to be taken lightly. It's not like getting the latest updates for Windows.
  • Any modifications, themes, or addons you had on your old cart will be gone or at least disabled and you are basically building it again from scratch. Your customer, product, and order data can all be preserved, but most themes and 3rd party addons will either need to be reinstalled (when and if there is a compatible version made), and many mods that do not have updates will be lost.

Will there be any "one-click upgrade" extension or what? ???

What Qphoria said is especially true with this update as the template system has been replaced with twig. This means that all themes for OpenCart v2.x are no longer compatible and that all extensions need to have their interfaces rebuilt which takes time for developers to complete.

Haven't tested your number 2 custom field/regex problem

So many bugs in first 10 mins use, Where to post? This is news and announcements forum, no version 3 area exists yet.
This version is beta at best! Is it too late to reclass as beta?
Oh Daniel, this version looks so promising, yet you freely give ammo to your competitors by skipping beta stage.

Apparently, its waiting in the wings
https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod/issues/1 ... -309858903

However, JNeuhoff already released his integrated version (although I normally recommend using the above version when its released)
