As a starting point: http://api.jquery.com/jquery.ajax/
And further nearly in each template - study that code.

HINT - most of us aren't techies - Question - can you just press a button and the newest version upgrade itself over the old version?

Since OC is not very good in upgrades I suggestion NOT to do that with the upgrade script, look for 3rd party script of the updater from pm-netti (when done for 2.1.0.0)

I'd like to see a conditional stylesheet/js file so we can use ocmod to override it. If the file exists in the modification folder... One can use ocmod to change the css but since its link is hardcoded in the header.tpl it won't affect anything.
(I know there are other ways but this would be handy)

Iamdbat my friend the Upgrade with one button is one of the most wanted feature in the Uservoice site: http://opencart.uservoice.com/forums/52387-general
and as you see is Under Review.

Unfortunately and to this version we see NONE feature added , all the suggestions of UsersVoice site is ignored.
It will be fair to close that site .

Opencarts is so slow at its development .
Very good to see so many bugs resolved but if there is no features comes in so long time ago since 2.0 series releases this project will be poor against others eshops out there.

Its like someone wants to keep Opencarts poor of features and for that responsible is Daniel .
Make Opencart paid , 5 euros for every download and give that money to hire peoples to make it unbeatable!

Thanks
Theo

do we have any idea roughly how long before 2.1 is released ?
i mean like 1-2 weeks, 1-2 months ?

it has been tested now for 4 weeks which is a lot longer than what devs were given to test before,
i know this is more or an upgrade which brings me to my 2nd question
how much will current 2.0.3.1 mods be affected ?
will most be compatible still ?
will it just be slight changes like when 2.0.1 became 2.0.2

i am literally about to build a new site, and would prefer to start as i mean to go on and use 2.1
but i dont want to start with 2.0.3.1 only to have 2.1 released a week later

(i also just dont want to wait for 2.1 like i waited for 1.6 lol)

Is 'sale/customer' being replaced with 'customer/customer'?

Morning everyone!

Thanks for all your help with the testing - we've found a couple of final bugs that need fixing, so we're a couple of days behind with the official release. We'll likely include the bugs fixes and roll straight into 2.1.0.1.

We'll be announcing the official release over on our newsletter first, so subscribe to keep updated.

Thanks!
- Heather

So is there no 2.1.0.0 alpha, then 2.1.0.0 beta, then 2.1.0.0 final release cycle then?

Please not!
Better to fix them and publish a 'stable' release.

Oops! That was a typo on my end, we've fixed the bugs that we found in 2.1.0.0 and included the bug fixes in 2.1.0.1.

Thanks!
