Password either not entered or incorrectly entered during installation. Ensure to use the right database password. If you're not sure what it is, contact your host.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I started over and reinstalled OC and sure enough the front page showed up, but..

I installed VQmod and the front disappeared again.

I am assuming this has something to do with installing it using the IP # /~name rather than the full domain name although I have done this a few times before but with OC 2 and 1.5 and below.

This is browser message in Edge. No message in FF or Waterfox only blank page.

HTTP 500 error
That’s odd... the website can’t display this page

This is Chrome

This page isn’t working
223.130.27.185 is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500
The site may be under maintenance or could have a programming error.

Any ideas please.

Unless you are not using a compatible version of VQMod with the OC release you are using, this error would normally appear if you have installed extensions along with VQMod or it might also be caused by improper configuration of both config.php files / .htaccess.

Thanks again.

.htaccess is named correctly in vqmod and public dirs.

Made change to Allow in vqmod .htacc but no change in public_html

both configs have db, user and pwd correct and 755.

and addressed as..
// HTTP
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://223.130.27.185/~mysite/');

// HTTPS
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'http://223.130.27.185/~mysite/');

// DIR
define('DIR_APPLICATION', '/home/mysite/public_html/catalog/');
define('DIR_SYSTEM', '/home/mysite/public_html/system/');
etc..

Thanks again..

etc. was for the rest of the default config file.

Cleared vqmod cache and both side came up with this message for front.
