Problem with discount

Hello,
I have the following problem, when i insert price in discount then it is not applied. Any ideas??
P.S.: I deleted the text from product.tpl. This may be the cause. But I don't want "xxx or more xx.xx$" text to be shown.

[EDIT] I reinstalled the first version of product.tpl and the problem persists. So this is not theproblem.

Since you replaced original file have you refreshed cache in extension/modifications ?
