So it looks like this one was overlooked and my apologies if this has already been mentioned..

Try this one for yourself, type in some letters in the quantity field and click add to cart. It will say "success" but it will not add anything to your cart.

Could it be fixed so the quantity field would only allow for number characters 0-9 in order to proceed?

you can make the change in your template from input type="text" to type="number". It's just visual, and doesn't really matters. OpenCart ultimately does not add the item to the cart if they hit in random alphabets :)
