I have a site I am developing that requires customers to choose from a number of files (digital downloads).
But I want the checklist to appear as just a big text list down the page with Add buttons to the right of each choice.
I am very familiar with HTML5 and CSS3 but just don't know if messing with the page structure will affect cart functionality.
Well, if you want to let your visitors order from a listing page,
you don't need a Product Page at all, I assume.

Yes that is correct. No product page just a list down the page with no description as they are all free digital downloads with an option to download either pdf or doc (which I have an addon for).
So the page will have this order:
CATEGORY NAME
Product
Product
Product
CATEGORY NAME
Product
Product
Product
etc..

But if you need something custom, you'll have to get it made, if you're not able,
to modifiy something existing by yourselfs.
