I have a lot of categories and sub categories..
At this time oo many subcats for a category. The pages are growing to heavy.
so I am thinking about making a extra menu step. this means I have to re-locate the subcategories.
Is there a way to easily move sub-categories from one cat, to another cat.
Does one have a solution for this. Is there an addon for bulk relocate subcats.
Thank you

Open PHPMyAdmin and use this command:

UPDATE category SET parent_id = X WHERE category_id = Y

Command syntax says for itself, nothing complex here.

Thanks but that is not it.
I want to move only selected categories. This way I move all the subcats.
Do you have another idea on how to handle this.

I gave you an example query, you can expand it any way you like and update only the desired categories. This ia the easiest and fastest way providing you can usd MySQL or at least read its documentation.
