Modifying required fields for checkout and guest checkout

Hey guys,

I would like to remove a few of the required fields from standard and guest checkout. Would simply finding the template file and removing/commenting out those bits work? or is there somewhere in the interface I should instead do this?

Yes you can do that but you would also need to comment out/remove the error checking code in the controller files

Thanks for your reply! Would it be easier if I left the fields there but just stopped them from being compulsory? Something thats possible?

It would be easier to make a vqmod which will just comment out the relevant code.
Then changes wont be lost when/if you upgrade, you can then just re-add the vqmod
