My client says her customers are not getting order confirmation emails, the site is using version 2.3.0.2, is there a bug within 2.3.0.2 that could be the issue?

Thank you in advance

Unless you added a mod affecting mail, no IT should work.
If using mail protocol switch to smtp and add server, login password and correct port for sending mail.
More and more isp s are blocking PHP mail protocol.

I think the SMTP settings are correct as the admin receives the order email confirmation but for some reason the customer don't

Does your client get email notifications back when sending out email to that email acount.
had same problem, shop was sending out mail, admin recieves mail, but client does not,
Had hosting add ptr records to mail, zo mail is trusted, exchange servers do requiere that.

Think the hosting company I use has found the issue, they have said the following

spam score is being generated because the message is being encrypted using base64 encryption and this is generating a spam score, if there is an option to remove that encryption it should really help to avoid these emails generating a spam score which in turn should avoid the messages having problems with delivery.
