Hi guys,
I'm a relatively new user of Opencart 2 and am assessing it to ascertain whether it is a good fit to enable us to get off our existing ecommerce platform. I've watched a number of tutorials and followed a good amount of the documentation and like to think I've become reasonably proficient with the basic capabilities of OC.
One particular area however that is stumping me is how I would satisfy the following scenario. We offer a number of products that are in turn an amalgam of individual products and I can't figure out how we would do this in OC whilst still maintaining inventory control of each of the constituent parts. Here are a couple of examples:
1) A discrete product called a 30L Fermenter Kit which would comprise of a 30L Fermenter, an airlock bung, a 3/4" tap, and an airlock. Each of these products are also available individually.
2) A beer recipe kit which would comprise of a fixed amount of grain, hops and yeast (non-selectable by the customer in the sense that each recipe has fixed quantities of other products) ie. 5.2kg Ale Malt, 50g Cascade hops, 2 packets US-05 yeast.
Is there base functionality that I have blindly overlooked that would enable this or is there an existing extension perhaps? I'm starting to run out of ideas.
TIA for your help,
Dave
Hey Dave,
Glad you're liking OpenCart so far.
You would need an extension for this, suggest you look here:

And here:

All the best,
Paul
