Some extension causing this or your template. Find out, which extension by disabling them one by one and contact its developer.

i am new to opencart.
i think this is because of template. Site is working when i click clear in modifications but when i click refresh, site homepage shows error. Any idea how i should go about it?

If it's because of template, contact template developer and as for help. Nobody can help you here by just looking at error messages.

Is is not theme then, but instead some extension. There's no "vie_config" in default OpenCart setup.

disabling the mod was not removing mod data completely...just deleted the xml file using ftp client...thanks mate
