home page rotating banner in multistore only images in default store?

Hi
I am totaly new to OC. and trying to set up MultiStore. - testing & learning at the moment.
The Default and Store#2 are installed and seem ok, I have different catagories in each so I assume all is fine ?
BUT I have changed the default home page banner images, they appear and rotate in the Default Shop, however in the Store#2 the banner names appear and rotate but no images ?

I am sure that I have in settings / layout the banner is saved to both shops. I do intend to have different images for each store later.

The same problem with Category images - test catagory Printed Mugs - image appears in Default but NOT the MultiStore ?

any ideas please ?

Sometimes it's best to just set up 2 separate sites if the content is very different.

Content is very similar...just a product options different

The images show in Default Store, but only the image holder (with image name ) in the 2nd multistore.

Same with a product in both sites ..only image holders with image name ?
