Hi,

I have noticed an option in admin panel for Orders Section i.e: Missing Orders. What is Missing Orders?

Why some orders showing in Missing orders even some orders showing COD payment method also.

Missing orders is where orders go where the payment gateway has not correctly called back the store and set the order status.

Sometimes an error with this process can make real orders end up here.

Not exactly. Order with zero status ALWAYS created on the last step of checkout, when you pass payment selection section. It's not necessary and error, it's just an order, which doesn't have any status yet. If you get back to previous steps of checkout and then return to the last step again, a new order with zero status will be created and so on. You might end with tons of missing orders in your database at some point, especially, if you use quick (one page) checkout extensions.

I have couple of questions related to Missing Orders:

(1) I have not received any email notifications for Missing Orders. Is it the default behavior when a missing order generated?

(2) Can some regular completed orders assigned as Missing ORders?

1. Missing orders are basically don't exist. Nothing's going on with them, they're "ghosts".

I mean is it possible a customer created a normal order on my website and it may goes to Missing Orders.

In that case i dont know i have received orders.

Only if some error happens. For example, if he selects to pay with certain payment method and interrupt it on the way. In this case order indeed can stay missing. But in any other cases missing orders are turned into regular ones, when you confirm the checkout.

Today I have received an order which goes to Missing Orders but i have received the payment for that order.

I have Only received payment confirmation by the payment gateway (ccavenue) but not receive any email notifications, so this is a big problem :How a complete order end up with as MISSING ORDER??

In this way, if i dont receive payment notification from the payment gateway , i never know that i have received a confirm order which end up as Missing Order??


Please guide how to resolve this issue bcoz if complete orders going as Missin orders its a big problem.

You can't resolve this, such things happen sometimes. Maybe payment notification didn't reach you, maybe something temporarily issue happened in the process etc. If this happens rarely, just ignore it and manually change the order status.

opencart2.3.0.2,pay by paypal standard payment,my paypal account can receive payment ,but all the orders go to "missing order".

I am having the same problem, but my order that is missing doesn't even show up in the "missing order" folder. Only shows up in paypal.

I had this happen to me yesterday.
Got an order email from OC
Got a payment notification from Authorize.net
...but the order is showing up as missing, and usually the Authorize.net CC info is the first note on the order, but there is nothing.
I have had successful orders after this order too.

Honestly a bit scared after reading this post that this is a regular thing. Looks like I'll have to work with the Authorize.net API's and write some code to baby sit which seems very odd https://developer.authorize.net/api/ref ... -reporting
