Affiliate Tracking Code - how to use?

Hi All,

I may look naive here as I've searched high and low for an answer on here and google. Using 2.0.3.1

An affiliate signs up and is approved. They are given a tracking code. How do they use that tracking code?

I'm presuming it's added to a url link. If so, what is the format?

The link contains a tracking variable

yourdomain.com/?tracking=1234567890 where 1234567890 = the affiliate's unique code

When a visitor arrives at your site from any link with that tracking code appended, a cookie gets set and they are free then to browse around the site and purchase anything.

Anything purchased will be logged against that affiliate.
