Hello recently I 've been trying to make my website gdpr complient and I am searching for a cookie solution to allow my users to be able to choose what cookies they want. I 've noticed that someone already done that here http://giftshop.redcross.org.uk/
Anyone knows what they are using or something similar to add in my opencart website?
I need it for OC 2.1.0.2 and Journal Theme!

2. to be compliant with the GDPR the cookies has in general nothing to do - or better to say: with the coming GDPR below is changing for cookies > the major change will be next with the new ePrivacy regulation
3. the GDPR difference between 3 types of cookies:
3.1 allowed (no need to ask a customer or any consent): cookies for e.g. language and currency (as OpenCart does per default)
3.2 NOT allowed without any consent/ user agreement:
3.2.1 any marketing cookie e.g. Google Analytics >> exception (as always ..): if such a cookie is mandatory for your business (which of course is not)
3.2.2 each cookie which is not requried to operate the website/webshop
In addition it is also important in which country you have your webshop registered.
Because in a few you have to inform the visitor about the used cookies, e.g. Great Britain - this is what does plugin does ..
To apply what you want, you need some completely different than the solution the mentioned site use.

Just to clarify some: the moment your webshop is selling into countries which need such informations, you have to display it!
Example: Germany has no need to display the so called Cookie Banner', because their own Law is stronger than the EC.
While shops from Great Britain has to display in any case.
So, it is up to each shopowner in which countries he is selling.
The practice the last 4 years showed, that it makes sense to display the 'Cookie Banner'.
Reason for all: every time the Law of the country the visitor is coming, his Law has priority > Consumer Rights!
On top of that: if you country has some Law which is stronger than the EC (see German or GB) AND it does not violate the Consumer Right, you have to follow that advice.
