I've setup the download feature on the product page so it will allow a user to download a pdf instruction document from each product page.
When uploading the pdf file in the "Downloads" section, their is a string of additional characters that are added to the filename.
eg. speaker1.pdf.mqfVwy2rIze10AsllnN5V8pRSJYlNx9h
The mask is showing the correct file name - eg. speaker1.pdf

On the product page, it won't seem to download as the link points to the download folder on the server but file cannot be found.
This is the download link path on the product page:
system/storage/download/speaker1.pdf

Any suggestions? Please help.

Easier to manually upload via ftp and then directly link on the product page.

the user who will be adding content will not have access to FTP so I need to try get it working this way.
Why does it add an encryption string? & how do we link to it?

The downloads in/via admin are generally used for digital sales

They are encrypted to stop would be thieves guessing filenames and downloading without ordering/paying first.
