There currently is the option to restrict the availability of Payment Methods by Geo Zones. Is there an existing modification out there that also gives the option to restrict the availability of Payment Methods by Currency.

For example, PayPal doesn't support the Malaysian Ringgit but Moneybookers does. If a shopper views the items on my catalogue in US Dollar, I'd like to make both PayPal, Moneybookers, and Wire Transfer appear as payment method options but if a shopper views the items on my catalogue in Malaysian Ringgit, I'd like to only make Moneybookers and Wire Transfer appear as payment options.

The Opencart version I am using is version 1.3.2.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

hey I am not sure if you solved your problem yet..

but paypal CAN accept MYR.

I have setup a cart to accept MYR only and the owner paypal account is in MYR too!

If you do not want to go this way, you can download the paypal itemized patch (free) from Q, what it will do is it will convert the MYR to USD when it goes to paypal. ( perfect for you because you are on 1.3.2 . Q has not come up with a version for 1.3.4 yet

)

Thanks for the reply. When I posted the topic, PayPal had yet to accept MYR.

Nonetheless, a hack like this would be useful in setting up carts that use currencies that PayPal currently does not accept yet.

Hello Q,

Would you be updating the free patch "itemized paypal patch" to 1.3.4 compliant? I do not mind paying for the effort as long as it is affordable =)
