PayPal is an interesting beast. On one hand, it is a payment method - people can pay via their PayPal accounts. But on the other hand, it is a payment gateway for Visa, Mastercard etc - people without PayPal accounts can put in their credit card details (without saving) to pay for the transaction.

This is true for standard PayPal accounts as well as more advanced accounts.

So, is there a way when PayPal Standard is active, then on the checkout/payment step, it is split into two:
1) PayPal
2) Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
with the first one taking customer to PayPal login page on checkout,
and the second one taking the customer to credit card payment on checkout (same as PayPal login page, except what appears when you click "I don't have a PayPal account")

That is what I like about Paypal you can use your PP account and if the customer doesn't have one they can tic the "I don't have a PP account. I do that when I am low on funds in my PP account and need to use my cc's or debit cards. This should be on the same page at checkout. The login process for PP is on top and the other is on the bottom. This is standard default.

I know.

But I suppose there is an anchor of some kind that can be jumped to on that PayPal page. If so, it would be good if in Payment options, 2 different options are shown
PayPal
Credit Card
If customer selects PayPal, they are taken to the normal page like now.
If they select credit card, they are taken to the anchor for "Don't have a PayPal account?"

Well unless you add another payment option like Authorize.net, 2checkout.com or other Gateway companys along with PP. I know a lot of people who can't stand PP.

Not sure if you understand what I'm after. I'm talking about PayPal Standard (only). The question is whether it's possible to use this one technical payment module to present 2 different payment options in UI terms.

This is exactly what I was hoping to achieve as well. Any updates on whether or not its possible? Or how it can be done?

Thanks

Thank you
