Hi

My test system,
Windows server 2008 + wamp + Opencart 1.5.1.3
Site built, modifications made (theme downloaded, modules added), products added, configurations set how we wanted,
Tested, tested, tested and tested some more,
Everything working as expected

Move to my host, fast2host, Windows IIS 7.5 hosting package,
Clean install of 1.5.1.3 then follow these instructions on moving
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... h=77_49_51
All appeared to be working after the move (early last week) but for the last few days i am battling to find the cause of some very strange problems,

The site is at http://www.kissawillowgems.co.uk

home page loads fine, can generally browse around the site,
when i attempt to login the problems start.
fill in email and password click, some times it logs in, some times it just refreshes to the login page with out my details filled in, and i am not logged in,
If i can log in i then select products, some times the add to cart buttons just do not do any thing, some times they do,
so now i have a few products in my cart, i go to my cart, if i tick the box to remove an item and click update more often than not it is not removing the item from the cart,
so i am stuck with these lets move on and check out, some times it will sometimes it will not complete the checkout process, often sticking at step 3 not letting me select a delivery address, clicking the button just is not doing any thing,

So now i want to log out, click log out, it takes me to the page telling me im logged out, click any other link on the site and some times it is then telling me i am actually still logged in, but just attempted this again now to confirm it and its not saying im still logged in,
All of these issues are intermittent, some happening more often than not,

I noticed i had 'use SEO URLS' on which if im correct isnt going to work on a IIS server because of mod_rewrites ?
so turned it off, renamed .htaccess to htaccess.txt but i am still having issues at present.

If any one can shed some light on this would be very great-full,

is it my ....
opencart install?
my host?
the fact i have a windows hosting package with IIS, do i need to switch to Linux and apache?
are there other changes i need to make moving my set up from the test system to the live system?
should i do a clean install on the live server and build it all from scratch?

Thank you for any help
Keith

Check config.php in both your opencart directory and your admin directory. Make sure the paths to everything are absolute. I had this issue because my host started forcing www. at the beginning of my domain, and so I started having this problem.

Thanks Fuyuri

Taken a look at both config files, they are identical and all paths are absolute, set out in this format.

define('DIR_APPLICATION', 'E:\HostingSpaces\username\site.co.uk\wwwroot/admin/');

So unfortunately that is not the problem.

First thing I noticed looking at the site that may be an issue

http://www.kissawillowgems.co.uk/catalo ... tom.min.js
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)
http://www.kissawillowgems.co.uk/catalo ... custom.css

Thanks Fuyuri

Neither of those files exist with those names,
how ever i do have jquery-ui-1.8.16.custom.min.js and jquery-ui-1.8.16.custom.css

note the 1.8.16 rather than 1.8.9

so is something configured incorrectly some where for you to try looking at the 1.8.9 versions of these files?

im learning my way as i go with all of this so will probably ask some potentially daft questions along the way.

Thanks

OK

Done some forum digging, find a few articles, seems both these are mentioned in the header.tpl file, changed both to 16 from 9, now need to run some testing, but back to work for the afternoon first,
Should i be changing any other links to these files other than in the header.tpl ?

Thanks

Header.tpl is shared between all pages, so feel free to change just that.

Well seemed to be better after making those adjustments but then the problems cropped up again,
bit more digging and the theme i am using is listed up to and including 1.5.1.2 and I'm on 1.5.1.3 so assuming that's why those links had older versions, and I'm guessing why I'm still having issues,
going to switch the site back to default theme and test again,
But still seems a bit odd that it all worked fine on my test system with none of this happening until hitting the live server

I have put the live site back on the default theme, made 2 positional changes in stylesheet.css to move the header logo and horizontal menu down so it all 'fits'

Can i try logging in 'to often' ? trying to give it a heavy test,

log in, log out, continue
log in, log out, continue
login, fails just refreshing the login screen with out my details,

if i leave the site for a minute then attempt again it is OK,

am i just hitting it to fast in the testing? an if so what am i hitting to fast? is this the database or the software?

still thinking its a bit odd as the test system was not suffering from problems, keeps making me go back to thinking its something to do with my hosting ?

I have carried out a clean 1.5.1.3 install onto a sub domain that was already in place and empty,
No alterations to any thing.
Store front, registered, attempted multiple logging in and out,
3rd attempt to log in and just get login page refresh with no details and user not logged in.

Tested again on my test system and i can keep logging in and out with out issue.

Any one chuck any more ideas at this?

Thanks

Going to bring this thread back up rather than starting new,

Forgetting about the login / logout over and over thing for a minute, if i can get to the bottom of the other issues that may get fixed as well,

The other big issue i have have is with the shopping cart,
I can move around the site, adding items to the cart, i then go to the shopping cart and decide to remove something,
Tick the box, click update, item appears to have been removed but then as soon as i do anything, click link to main page, click continue shopping, even just click the shopping cart link and that item is back in the cart again,
It makes no difference if i am logged in or not.

The main page loads at http://kissawillowgems.co.uk and http://www.kissawillowgems.co.uk
could there be any issues with how this is working ?

Are there any other known issues / situations that can cause this behaviour in the cart ?

As mentioned before i get the same behaviour on a clean install on a sub domain that is just as the demo site looks, no alterations by me at all, but not on my test system running on WAMP,
So has to be something to do with domain name / hosting / etc / etc rather than my opencart config ?

Any help gratefully received,

Thank You

OK another bit of information on this cart issue

If i add several items to the cart,
Go to the cart and see al the items listed,
tick box next to one item (to remove it)
click update
cart screen shows with item removed, - at this point if i click the cart again the item removed reappears,
if i leave the page as it is after clicking the update button, currently leaving for about a minute,
then click the cart button again the cart is correct, the removed item is still removed and it will not come back by its self,

So it seems something is not updating fast enough, but what? where? and why?

Thanks

Try checking your .htaccess file. Sometimes there can be rules set up which redirect in an endless loop or some other issue.
