Can't get past Step 1 in a clean install of version 2.0.0.0

I have downloaded and unzipped version 2.0.0.0 of Opencart and am trying to install it as a demo site in a subfolder on my domain (public_html/demo)
I cannot get past step1 of the installation. I accept the terms and conditions, and click on "continue", and the page refreshes but it is the same page!
This is not an upgrade, but a clean install on a newly created database.
I would like to use version 2.0.0.0 because the theme I want to use is not yet updated to the most current version of Opencart.
Can anyone help me out with this? It is extremely frustrating.

is you front and admin folder have the config file with config.php ?

If this files contains the config-dist.php like name than please rename both files to config.php

and try to install again
