problems backing up site from ftp & file manager

Ok it should be simple.

Trying to copy public_html and all the contents within it to my local drive but here's the issue:

Though filezilla either by dragging and dropping public_html to local drive, trying to right click and download or queuing first It will simply not download all the directories (13 altogether) in public)_html apart from 1 or 2. of that not all the folders within that subdirectory are downloading either. it just simply downloads how much it feels like and states transfer finished.

This is extremely frustrating

I tried yesterday to do it through file manager, through cpanel, copy and pasted to another directory, compressed and downloaded to local drive and it simply doesn't download all the folder and files.

I have 2 years of work I can't get off the server and I am really worried.

I am using bluehost I asked for support but they said it could be due to file permissions they changed a few things but the problem is still there

When you compressed the whole public_html and downloaded it, didn't it has all files and folders?

Do you have SSH access of the server?
