I need to add a left column to my home page. Example http://www.bullcreektrading.com/index.php This is on my old site. I put that site together a couple years ago but for the life of me I can't remember how I did the left column. Would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give me.

Well you need to do something like this, I assume. But your Site
show no Images either on your aged OpenShop Theme, you should
think about moving to something a little more attractive.

Yes that was the old site that crashed. I never was able to fix it, so I decided to replace it with a new site. I remember now I used the CMS module in Open Shop to make the info boxes that are in the left column.
Is your Open Shop a later version of this same Open Shop? What is the cost of your Open Shop? Also, do you have a demo of the admin?
Thanks

Well, my OpenShop Version still uses parts of the Original, but I replaced some older Extensions with later Versions, to keep them working with PHP-7. But if you're interested, in a couple of weeks, I will have a free Version ready, and it will be able to use a range V-2 styled Bootstrap Themes, adopted to work with 1.5.6.5.

Well, just regularely check my links, shown below in the footer section here, and you
will find out, when it will be available. But be aware, that it will be a LIGHT Version, no
longer containing everything, as it exists in the default 1.5.6.4 + 1.5.6.5_rc Version.
(like Authorizenet, Amazon, eBay, Affiliates, reccuring Payments, and other minor Things)

But if you want a full OC-2 theme coded 1.5.6.5_rc (regular) Version now, you can download
one below, it also contains a fully working OC v.2.0.3.1 Bootstrap Theme, and if you don't want
to use OcMod, wich is part of it also, I can tell you, how to get rid of it, since it make ZERO sense,
to have it activated, if VqMod will be used. And 1.5.6.5 OcMod's rarely exist, I created some, also
an Admin OcMod Editor, but if you have an idea about VqMod already, VqMods could easy be
changed to OcMods, just in case, that you like to play around with something Exclusive ...

It's rather similar to mine, technically, exept for my Extensions addded, and my Custom OC-2
Themes will also work, as well as my Extensions, made to match Bootstrap-3 based OC Themes.
It still has a couple of very minor misses, but I could be of assistance, if your run into a problem.
An enhanced free OpenShop Admin Extension will also be available for this Version, later on...

Well, you better wait, I just invested the whole night, to fix a bunch of missing variables,
I found in the 1.5.6.5 Edge full Install package, but since most of them do not show
up visually on the front side, one needs to go trough all the Functions, to eventually get
everything cleaned out.

But it already performs swell, still by use of the Default OC header.tpl Linking and no
compressed yet Stylesheets and Scriptings, but the GTMETRIX Site test results already
reflect some changes made internally as well, so, if you give me another night, it will be
ready by tomorrow.
I also implemented the upmost important Admin Tools as well, and added some VqMods
plus some additional Modules, to test the System. This way, you have a 'finished' Version,
and this has some advantages over the Theme Install only, since you can also use other OC-2
Themes this way. The VqMods are driven/controlled by MaxD's famous exclusive VqMod PRO,
since this is the most efficient way, it installs itself, and handles VqMod Cache fully automatically.
And this OC v.1.5.6.5 V-Pro Version contains no more OcMod Code and related Admin Tools.
But it's 7.05 AM already, and I have to get a few hours of sleep now...

Well, my Version, as you call it, 8) is 100% OC , and OC v.1.5.6.5_rc
is a fixed v.1.5.6.4, since OC found about 25 misses in 1.5.6.4, wich
OC fixed later on, but never released the 'finalized' Version 'officially'
anymore, without the _rc, to get it out of the way of the earlier initiated V.2's.
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/bl ... angelog.md
---
And that's the only reason for me, to keep on talking about... :-*
And since it's (now inofficial) Github release, there where neither postings,
nor complaints, by those using them, contrary to just about everything else...
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/tr ... 306fb75707
---
But the 1.5.6.4 default Core Source has not been designed to match the
new Bootstrap 3 responsive OC v.2.x Screen Technology. And our Theme(s),
now used in 1.5.6.5 EDGE, LIGHT, and V-Pro, all come from OC v.2.0.x Versions,
so, we NOW have a MIXED Environment. And in order to avoid, adding masses
of Custom Files, like the big one's are doing it, everything has to 'co-operate' with
the existing 1.5.6.5 Core Code Files, some of them a little extended in Code, and
a couple of them added/changed, or moved, like the pagination.php system file,
to match the OC v.2 Way of doing this. It's all famous PEKU's (Pekka) Idea
and Work!

And I am very greatful about this, if he would only not have implemented
that OcMod Routine, running by default, since it is not great to have something
working, without a single purpose, other than wasting ressources, for no good
reason at all. :choke:

But I don't think, that ever anyone, exept for me, created a bunch OcMod's, even
an OcMod Editor, to try it out, just for the plain fun of it. It works well, but VqMods
are mucho easier to 'install/deinstall/clear', time- and work-wise, if one plays
around much with such. In addition, the Database is already full of stuff, and if
a DB is 'gone', all existing OcMods are possibly 'gone' too, if not saved locally.
---
Wich means, that 1.5.x Extensions, doing some work on the Front Side somewhere,
like your SuperMenu, will now have to speak some V-2.0.x Front Side Language, in
order to do their Job in the right place and form, and errorfree.

If a MOD came for free, you should check, if a v.2.0-v.2.1.x Version of it is also
available, because then, one could use v.1.5.6.x System Content, and combine
them with v.2.x Theme Content, to have it both in the most easy way. :D

I know, it may sound complicated. And if it does, it probably is, and you only
waste your time. But if one has just a little Knowledge on such, it's in most cases
an easy job. And it all comes for free, for those, willing and able to rather invest
some time, instead of money, and learn something in addition...

But the category based shipment is not a front side matter, technically at least,
and visual changes would, if required, be an easy thing to solve, I assume...

And you still have time to decide, I will only be ready tonight, but I cannot be of assistance,
when it comes to unknown to me extensions like that super menu, or other matters, wich
would force me to talk about money first, be aware of this. 8) For real Business Matters,
and OC means Business, for most everyone involved, highly qualified real OC Pro's exist. ;)
My OC v.1.5.6.5's are only Hobby, so better don't overestimate the Situation!

I guess since there is no support with your version I better stick with 1.5.6.4. There is no way I could fix any thing myself.
Thanks any way.

Well, this might really be a good idea, if one is unable to work on OC. With
this Version, I mainly planned, to address, who is already relatively fluent with
1.5.6.x Code+Mods, but now looking for a modern responsive Front Layout,
to match todays Viewer requirements. In addition to so get the latest ever
(in)official Release of this Version Kind.

But this leaves me a little more time too, since I wanted to add more admin Tools,
and by playing around with another Layout Style, I've wasted some time, according
to the schedule.
Good Luck! ;)
Ernie
PS: But you should then still download the 1.5.6.5_rc from the Github Site, if you want
all the misses and errors, still found in v.1.5.6.4, out of your new setup. 8)
Everything else is default 1.5.6.4 Code, exept for the fixes, made by OC.
