SSL and missing images

Postby acedra » Tue Jul 17, 2012 8:18 pm

Hello all,

I'm a bit perplexed at the moment. I've added an SSL cert to my cart but images are not showing up. I've modified the both the config files to point to https: and I've set the admin panel to use the ssl.

I've also gone to whynopadlock.com and gotten a plethora of errors. Except at this point I'm lost as to what to do about them. Any help for a hardcore newb?

running 1.5.X with some misc add-ons.

Any help would be appreciated. please advise if you need more info. Thanks!!

What's your site link, the type of certificate you're trying to run and did you do the installs or a host?

Hello,

You need to talk to the hosting company that install the SSL.
The HTTP protocol includes a "referer" parameter, this is there for security purposes and it is used a lot for promotional (marketing) tools. This referer parameter is blocking your pictures to being displayed.
Just tell your hosting companies that your images are not being displayed through an https request, most likely they will know what to do.
If that solves the issue, please let us know what your hosting company did so that we can guide better other users with the same issue in the future.

Thanks

I used to host with them and they should be able to get this straightened out for you. I never hosted an OpenCart site with them though. PM me if you need any more help to get this fixed.

Turns out that I hadn't added https://domain into my hotlinking list. Nothing wrong with the cert, just backstabbed by the little details. Thanks for the help!
