Hello everyone,

I'm using the default template with OC I wanted to have the menu with the list of categories on the left side instead of the horizontal line on the top. The obvious solution is to go to Design > Layouts > Home and add Category to the Column Left list. Then, in order to not display the categories in the horizontal menu, I unchecked Top under Catalog > Categories > (category name) > Data for every category. So far so good.

However, when the shop is viewed on a smaller screen or in a smaller window, the responsive mode doesn't display any replacement of the menu on the left side, and the responsive categories menu is empty, because it takes the categories from the horizontal menu, not from the menu on the left side, which I just added.

Is there any way to make the responsive layout take the categories from the menu on the left instead of the horizontal one, or in general to have the categories displayed correctly in mobile view while having them on the left side on a larger screen?

Thank you very much

Well, you cannot squeeze everything into a responsive Layout, so it looks
like in full size view, with the categories placed on the left side. It just does
not work this way. :D

Left and right modules are hidden in smaller views.
You could always edit your column_left.tpl file and remove the hidden-xs from the class and see how it looks in smaller resolutions.
