Hello.
I have a big issue. On my website starts every single word with a big letter (apple => Apple). I don't know how to change this problem. I searched hours for a solution but can't find anything.
Help is much appreciated!

And have a great pre Christmas time!!
Best Regards

In catalog/controller/product/manufacturer.php file,

find:

Code: Select all

$key = utf8_substr(utf8_strtoupper($result['name']), 0, 1);
replace with:

Code: Select all

$key = utf8_substr($result['name'], 0, 1);
This should rectify the issue.

Well, you would have to change a lot, I assume, to get everything in
lower case letters only, it's therefore better, to use some Code like shown
above, but placed in different sections and files, I assume, to make such work.
BUT you'll always have to clear out all existing OcMod and VqMod Cache
Sections, to make changes visible on screen.

Could you clarify what the problem is here? Are you saying that every word defined as starting with a lower case letter ("apple") somehow gets folded to an upper case (capital) letter: "Apple"? Can you tell which words this happens to? Is it just the first letter of a heading or title, is the entire string changed to "Title Case" (most first letters), is all text capitalized, is this just text in files or the database too, etc.? You might want to poke around the CSS provided with the template and look for a "text-transform" statement that is capitalizing all words, or to title case. It might be applied to certain classes of text, such as headings.

It happens to every single word on my website. For example my shopping cart or privacy police text. Every word starts big.
Little example:
How it should looks like: I have a big problem in OpenCart.
How it looks: I Have A Big Problem In OpenCart.
Best Regards!

If you're using a custom theme, switch back to the default theme and see if the texts are still showing the way you described.

In your browser, bring up whatever "element inspector" it supports (e.g., Firebug in Firefox). Take a look at the CSS being applied to some text with unwanted capitals. I'll bet you find one or more text-transform: capitalize settings in there somewhere. Comment it out (in the .css file, or <style> section) and see how things change.
