category edit - UPDATE button

What is the use of the UPDATE button when editing a category?
I was thinking that it should save the changes and return to the same page, but it doesn't.

You have to click save after you've changed what you want changed.....

its a useless button. It actually means "update from the database"... a better term would be "refresh"

I started writing code for a module similar to "Filtering module" since that one does not work with the latest version. I just needed to know a dev's opinion regarding that button, I also found it useless but didn't know what to believe.
