I'm still having a nightmare with Languages, allthough I love OpenCart, adding a language is becoming a big show stopper.
English will be default.
I have managed to add dutch fine (same version as Opencart) however, I'm struggeling with Spanish! I can't seem to find one for version 1.5.1.3 and suspect this may be why it is not working. Is there a free one around? is this the reason or another reason?
The error message reads: Notice: Error: Could not load language spanish! in /var/www/cart/system/library/language.php on line 26
also on Locale, can I just use the example as this seems to work for dutch ok. If not how do you know what to use?
en_US.UTF-8,en_US,en-gb,en_gb,english
Also, is using different currencies only available via the update the exchange rate daily? is there no way of adding a set price for each item in varoius currencies?
**Update**
Just tried Spanish Language Pack for OC 1.5.1.3.1 with the same errors?
TIA

That means you inserted it in the database but never uploaded the language pack. There are dozens for 1.5.x in general.. just find the latest. There may be a few missing lines, but you can add those as needed. In 1.5.2, language fallback was added back in so you will just see the english counterpart when your other languages are missing lines. Then you can just update themnsandell wrote: The error message reads: Notice: Error: Could not load language spanish! in /var/www/cart/system/library/language.php on line 26
Locale is used for browser detect. If you use the english bits, then people from Nederlands who have never been to your site, will see english instead of dutch by default. Just look up the locales:also on Locale, can I just use the example as this seems to work for dutch ok. If not how do you know what to use?
en_US.UTF-8,en_US,en-gb,en_gb,english

You want simply "nl_NL" in that field. English just has a lot because it has been bastardized so much by many regions claiming to have their "own" version of it.
Yes it is the only way. No hard-set prices... it is pointless. Let the cart do the work for you. One single price for you can be converted to unlimited currencies. Also, is using different currencies only available via the update the exchange rate daily? is there no way of adding a set price for each item in varoius currencies?
Thanks Qphoria, I have managed to get the Spanish Language Pack for OC 1.5.1.3.1 working now, It wasn't the same error it was because I hadn't translated one of the pages!! It now seems to work fine and I'm looking forward to getting other languages working, I'll look for the right locales too to get the visitors pages changing automatically as you suggest.
With currencies, I haven't really looked into this yet as it's a bit confusing. I know the script will go away each day and look at the rate, do I not need to set any of the rates and let the cart go away and check it? apart from leaving GBP at 1.00000000 is the currency convertor data very reliable?
Thanks again for your commecnt they have been taken on board and are helping a newbie vastly!

In 1.5.1.3 or older, the currency auto-updates once per day when the dashboard is loaded.nsandell wrote: With currencies, I haven't really looked into this yet as it's a bit confusing. This is good but also problematic when inserting new currencies, as it won't update the exchange rate until the next day. In the next version (already in svn) I've set it to update the exchange rates whenever a new currency is inserted. So you will see the change right away.
But the conversion is straight from yahoo, so its a proper exchange rate

The euro price in my Open cart is: 0.70660001
Currently on Yahoo it's: 0.8540
It opened at 0.8569 and previous close was: 0.8567 how can this be accurate? it has updated today btw.
Looks like 1 USD is .7373 EUR
Hi Qphoria, I took a screenshot of the exchange rates but after 48 hours they still haven't changed at all, I supsect for whatever reason they are not updating allthough it is configured to do so? help please!
