Checkout Page Error

I am getting the following error at checkout:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'public' (T_PUBLIC) in ........../armorysupplies.com/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-catalog_model_checkout_order.php on line 691

I removed the word 'public' and then it will process an order but a waiting message comes up and never resolves to complete. If I go to my cc account I can see where the orders have placed but no confirmation on the site side. It does still send the email confirmation though.

Your problem is caused by an vqmod extension; (is adding modifications in wrong place)
