Can't log in to admin after Use SSL settings change

Hi Opencart Forum

I had to change 'Use SSL:' to off while i set up the new SSL certificate after renewal. Sadly, after switching this off I am no longer able to log into the Opencart site, i have tried with both http and https with no joy.

When i put in my username and password then click 'Login' i get returned to the same login box (admin/index.php?route=common/login) and no error just doesn't log in.

Is there a way of switching 'Use SSL:' on without loggin in? Perhaps that might fix it...

I had a look through the database tables, the 'Store' table is empty and settings doesn't store it either. Thining this was strange, i have checked other OC installations and they all have the same empty 'Store' table.

I really hope someone can help.

try to disable .htaccess
and
try to edit your config.php in the admin directorie and make sure all http is changed to https (all of them)
log in to your shop admin it will now work throug https all the time.

I have just tried your suggestions, deleted .htaccess file and changed both config.php and /admin config.php occurances of http to https and now i recieve a bad login message, I have checked the password and even tried copying a password from another install of OC from table to table.

Any way to change the use SSL status from outside the admin?

Check next tables in phpmyadmin
oc_store
and oc_setting look for config_secure

I have amanged to get in, the password i had copied from the users table was from an altered version of oc, i had changed the encryption to sha, in stead of md5 which OC uses.

The first solution worked a charm

I have similar problem - can't log into admin area after switching SSL to off in opencart system. I studied this topic but could not follow what should be done to solve.
Can you explain please in more details, step by step?

I have same problem with my OC verion 2.2.0.

Deleting .htaccess file can help you be able to login again only. But causes store products page become not found. All images across admin pages are disappeared.

I changed all http to https in config.php files in both root and admin. But no luck.

How can I fix admin login problem under SSL protection?
