Many good apps there are in your lists, here is mine.

As I run on Linux rather than Winblows all is Linux. I use M$ for testing sites apart from using Firefox on my EeePC.

My list:
Web Coding/Editing: Vim, Gedit and Bluefish
Firefox plugins: Download Them All
Scripting/Renaming: Shell scripting (bash, sed, awk,grep) i.e. ( for f in ... )
Upload / Download: scp and pscp if having to use M$
Graphics: The Gimp rules
File size checking i.e. on product/price lists md5sum and diff

Are people running OpenCart on IIS or mainly Linux/Unix?

Photoshop CS4 @ work
Photoshop Elements @ home - I was surprised at this one. I didn't know it had so many features.
Blumentals WebBuilder - nice code explorers, code library & totally portable - I take it with me on my USB drive.
PSPad - nice text/code editor. Portable as well. I use it alongside WebBuilder so I don't mix projects, when working on two things at the same time.
DZsoft PHP editor - when I'm working on yet another project... this one is portable too.
Fabforce DBdesigner for quick database modelling/building.
Dreamweaver CS4 when I'm feeling lazy or just doing html layout/tweaking.
Mozilla - Firebug, Web dev tools, aardvark & any other new trendy add-ons.

winSCP ... Free SFTP, FTP and SCP client.
http://winscp.net
or putty ...Free SSH and telnet client.
http://www.putty.org/

I use them both every day.

notepad2 is worth a look too ... its not as feature rich as notepad++ but much faster for quick edits

Well, Am a student by profession. But this is what i use when i do some small freelance work (Very Small, Since am not an expert programmer/coder) or experiment.

1) Sublime Text

2) Notepad++

3) Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 (Mostly for my C# Programming & Experiments)

4) Microsoft Expression Studio 3 (Mostly Experiments)

5) Pixlr Firefox Plugin to take Screenshots

6) Gimp, Paint.NET for Graphic Works

7) FTP Tools - I use FileZilla, But i love SmartFTP. Too bad i cannot afford a license right now.

8) Browser Addons: Firefox (No Script, Flashgot, AdBlock Plus, GreaseMonkey and Not to forget the Magical Firebug)

Although Sublime is good, I am with Notepad++ most of the time. UltraEDIT looks good too, But i am yet to try. Also, I use Ad Muncher. Kills almost each and every Ad on the Internet :)

I Would like to Try

1) Adobe Master Collection CS4
2) Eclipse IDE
3) Corel Softwares
4) UltraEDIT

I'm looking to run OC locally on my machine before going live, would the Mozilla Web Developer do the trick?

* HTML Editors
* CSS Editors
* Text-Search Tools

PS/Gimp for:
* Graphics Editors
* Color Pickers

Printscreen button and Paint as:
* Screenshot Tools

Total Commander as:
* FTP Tools

Mozilla Firefox + Firebug/Safari as:
* Browser Addon's/Utilities

http://www.w3schools.com & http://jquery.com & http://www.pixel2life.com as:
* External Resources/Tutorials

PhpMyAdmin it good for me as:
* Database Manipulation Tools

Also I use WampServer for:
* Localserver (for test of script etc.)

Most of them are free, and easy in use.

Another vote for Notepad++, it's the only code writing tool I use for HTML, php and css.

HD Search and Stats to find text in files.

Tonight I downloaded Code 66 Recursive Replace after finding Open Cart templates (default one at least) use full directory paths!

Firebug is a godsend.

GIMP and Inkscape for graphics, mostly Inkscape as the export co-ordinates make it really simple to slice designs

Just came across a tool called "grepWin" (not to be confused with WinGrep)
Similar to Agent Ransack, It has a context menu in windows that allows you to right-click on a folder and choose "grepWin" and search for words inside all the files in that folder.

But unlike Agent Ransack, it allows you to globally replace as well. Very handy

Checkout NetBeans.

Very good for a free code editor.

ugh.. why would you want anything made in java? I don't have the kind of patience to wait for it to load & garbage collect all day

java (managed code) can never be faster than C++ (native code). Makes it great for servers but bad for apps. There are too many good c++ editors out there to stop for java... IMHO... and ouch on that filesize.

you are right about java/c++ speed but in this case you don't feel it if you don't have too slow pc. Filesize is 25MB is this too much? I can recomend netbeans it is very comfortable it has debbuger, built in SVN and more good stuff :), a lot of programmers use netbeans so it can't be so bad.

One of my most used apps would have to be eWallet. This product allows you to securely store all your password and sensitive information in one easy location. It uses 256 bit AES encryption to keep all your data safe. The best thing about it, is that because it’s an iPhone app I know that I’ll have all my data conveniently with me all the time. Once you purchase the iPhone app, you can then purchase the desktop version for only a few extra dollars. Using your WiFi network, you can then keep them both synced very easily.

I am not a programmer, so I use quite simple, free tools.

1. Editor: Komodo Edit 5 (free)
I like it. It shows line numbers, it color codes structure, it remembers last position in document (even if you closed the document), and it lets you search across files. Then, of course, it allows several types of coding, understands which language you are using and acts accordingly.
2. FTP client: Filezilla (free)
Good simple client, gets the job done. fairly robust, doesnt drop files often, very easy to use GUI, remembers last connected server, can prefill local directory names....it's good and simple...

I also use Firebug plugin for Firefox for some code checking. Also free.

Oh, and for screenshots I simply use Window 7's Snipping tool. Yes, I'm a neanderthal, and I am cheap, but it works for me :-)
