What would you consider 'affordable'? You generally get what you pay for ;)

I would say that $100 would be that max of 'affordable' when you are on a beer budget like me.

If you are looking for something custom designed, we charge $100 for logo design. This includes up to three design request changes (All artwork files are delivered in Vector format for professional printing services)

Post Re: Custom Logo Design Tips
Useful Logo Design Tips:

-Are you a designer, planning to design a logo for your client? You can save yourself from headaches by remembering a number of tips. These tips will help ensure that you get the best logo for your business.
-The most important thing is that the logo need not visualize your client’s nature of work. The logo need not necessarily depict food just because your client is in the catering business. You can check out various examples including that of `Apple Computers’ where the logo does not depict the nature of business.
-There are countless examples where just texts are used to design excellent logos. The meaning is simple… it is not essential to have an image in your logo.
-There also might be occasions when the client might not share your thoughts. There is no reason to be frustrated by the same. Why not share your thoughts with the client repeatedly till he or she provides you with exactly what you need.
-The values of logo sketching can be realized by anyone and you do not need a computer program to undertake the same. A pen and paper is more than sufficient.
-Make sure that you keep some extra time in your hands while quoting for a project.
-Do not attempt to follow a trend, instead try to set one yourself.
-Trends are here today and gone tomorrow. You should instead focus on the longevity of the brand identity.
-Start off with black and white and leave the color part for the end. This way you shall be able to focus more on the idea.
-The logo should be descriptive. If you are designing the same for any kid-related product, then keep it simple. However, if it is for a professional, then it should be serious in nature.
-Never try to go overboard with the design. Try to keep it as simple as possible and at the same time ensure that it is something different from the rest.
-Make sure that there are certain elements in your logo that make them stand apart from the crowd. Crowding too many elements will spoil the result.

Have you tried fiverr.com or fivesquids.co.uk (things people will do for a fiver)

There are a lot of skilled graphic designers on there, and some rubbish ones. But for £5 you cant really go too far wrong, especially if you just want something web 2.0 like

I'm looking for affordable logo design as well, but come on, can you really expect anything more than a 2bit design for $5??

I have looked online and there are currently over a million results for the search term 'logo design'.

Does anyone have any personal experience with a logo design firm and could give me a recommendation? My budget is <$200 preferably.

Thnx!
J.

Check with the art teacher at your local community college, college, votech or even high school. Often they can recommend a student with great design abilities. It gives them something for their portfolio and you a great, original design for cheap. When I was in high school, I did several designs this way for logos, business cards, etc.
