Hello all, This is my first post to the site as I am in need of a little help. Actually a lot, I've searched everywhere and cant seem to find simple to follow steps. I'm not a developer but I am familiar with developing, with time I usually figure it out. What I'm trying is to integrate my vanilla forums in a link next to home, wishlist, ect... or even in the footer. I read about the embed script on vanilla but there's no detailed instructions of how to use it in Opencart other than add script to information or news page. Once embedded I also want my users to sign in/out through Opencart as I will disable the sign-in out from vanilla forums. I know its something with sharing a database or what not but may someone please give me detailed instructions or lead me in the right path as this is important for my site. Thank you ahead of time. I'm using Opencart 1.5.2.1. Also, Opencart is installed in the root. Vanilla is in root/forums. I used the same database info when installing. but they do not work together. Thanks again. :)

In your Vanilla admin panel, go the the <embed> vanilla plugin and you will find the snippet there. You copy that into your OpenCart page (create an Information page and name it Forum or something).

I did that, but the forum is not showing up - I clicked on source and pasted the code, but it doesn't seem to register the script for some reason on the page.

You're sure you're clicking on source code in the text editor before you paste the script in there?

Where is your main vanilla install? Is it in a directory named forum or vanilla? Did you list the support-forum page in your Vanilla admin as where the Embedded forum is located?

I'd have to take a look in your admin panels to see then to figure it out.

It should look like this. http://www.bigchiliecommerce.com/suppor ... rce-forum/

could the template I'm using for opencart be setup to block the javascript code?

because It won't parse it for some reason, it just displays the text on the page.

Once you enable the <embed> Plugin, you should get a bottom part to that image you linked me. The bottom part would look like the image I linked where you enter in the URL to your support-forum page in OpenCart.

Not really sure then man why it's not working. Again, if you want to let me look inside your admin panels for both Vanilla and OpenCart I could probably figure it out. Up to you. PM me if you can't figure it out.

It might be a problem with the CKeditor in OpenCart. You might could try to update the CKeditor by following these instructions http://www.immense.net/update-version-c ... -opencart/ and see if it would work then.
this did the trick for me if anyone else has this problem, the latest version of opencart is not running the latest version of ckeditor.

Glad that fixed it.

After you get it embedded, you might want to tick the box in the pic below to force people to view your forum from your OpenCart site. (If you don't tick the box, people will be able to view your forum at both your main install site and your OpenCart site which could be confusing).
