Hi - New to these forums so excuse me if someone has already spoken about this.
I have a new opencart store http://www.hardware-warehouse.co.uk and orders are picking up to a point where printing out the picklist and running it down to the warehouse is becoming a bit leborious.
Orders are drawn in from ebay and amazon too so all orders are held centrally in opencart and all handled the same internally.
Ideally I want a terminal in the warehouse that constantly shows new orders to be picked and then the warehouse guys click the print button next to the top order and out pops the pick list, off they go.
Then once picked they scan the pick list and up pops an entry screen to enter the amount of boxes into the system, weights and dims. Then out pops a shipping label to slap on the box.
It is then put in the goods out area ready to go until scanned onto the actual courier van.
All the time the customer order status is being changed to reflect where the order is in the system.
I was going to look at a standalone bit of software to do this but then I would have to get it to communicate with opencart. Ideally it would be great to have it integrated into the admin module in some way so its all in 1 place.
Anyone know of anyone that has done this or something similar?
Looking for ideas before I start to commit money and resource

I would advice searching for an existing opencart module (something like http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... h=picklist) which contains most of the features that you need and then start building the remaining features on top of it.
