Would you mind explaining how you did this to a html/css newbie in rudimentary terms please? I have a wordpress site and set up open cart yesterday but I don't know how to link opencart to the wordpress website. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Watch this space. I'm currently working on getting Wordpress => Into Opencart, but when that's done I'm going to be doing it the other way around getting Opencart information => Into Wordpress using plugins, shortcodes, widgets etc.
Basically I want to provide solutions that will leave both applications standing alone, but still integrated and without any coding requirements for Webmasters that need to implement it.
Don't ask for release dates on WP plugin, as it's only an idea at present, but the WP=>Opencart integration should be done this week.

I've made the Wordpress into Opencart phase 1 ( WPOpencart ) - It connects to Wordpress, grabs the info you specify, whether it's latest posts, posts in a specific category, list of post categories, post archives, any wordpress menu, bookmarks/links, post calendar, blog search box & displays it in an Opencart module block. You can put this block in any Opencart module region.

This is just the start - at the moment it links you back to the Wordpress - I've already got a long list of features & updates for phase 2, which includes displaying the full post, page etc within Opencart, so you don't have to sync your templates on two installations. Wordpress will then only be for updating the blog, and I still would like to keep some level of separation between the two to allow for updates & future releases.

I'm going to start making the Wordpress plugin this week. ie. Opencart data to Wordpress plugin & widgets - this should be interesting.

The plugin your selling seem quite nonfunctional.

I am thinking of opening a public GitHub/Google Project and start working on this so we can get every folks to collaborate. Just want to make sure there is not any other 'work in progress' for a similar module on another git. If anybody knows one please let me know.

If I do the project and start developing it, it's going to be free and open source so everyone can just make it better. I don't think somebody or a small group can achieve a 'perfect' module without the help and input of the whole community.

Thanks.

I will miss not integrated with WP shopping cart is displayed in the sidebar on a page when a user other than the online store shopping cart. This allows customers to feel that the whole site as a whole, rather than part of the site's information and independent shopping site shopping cart section.

I used to need the plugin like this, but not found.
After search the extensions, I found this great extension:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=4725

agree that It can't not replace the wordpress, but I think it is good enough for a news/blog section in Opencart.

Phase 2 has been released.
No takers so far, so I think every one wants me to work for free or there's no demand for this functionality.

The main thing I am looking for is to keep the user logged in from opencart to wordpress and vise versa, does your mod do this?

Its not that are no takers and no demand for it. Probably there is a minimum functionality requirement before you see the demand. I personally don't want to pay for something if it doesn't do what I need it to do yet, particularly the login twice issue.

Anticipating your next releases though

I have the sitemap module that I use in opencart and there is a plugin I use for wordpress sitemap.

Do I have to manage two sitemaps? 1 for opencart and 1 for wordpress?
How will this be handled?
Are there any conflicts?
