Purpose
This extension enables Amazon-like cross-selling and up-selling features to your OpenCart store.

Cross-selling is the action or practice of selling an additional product or service to an existing customer.

Customer journey

Close your eyes! Imagine the customer on your OpenCart store. Imagine her on a product page.

Now imagine she hits the button you most pray for: Add to Cart

Now open your eyes and answer this question: After the customer has added the product to cart, what task does she need to accomplish on that product page? What purpose does the product page serve once the product has been added to cart?

Correct! We couldn't find one good answer! There is no good reason to keep the customer on the product page after she has added the product to cart.

That's why Amazon does not keep the customer on the product page after she hits Add to Cart. Instead, it takes the customer to what is ostensibly a "confirmation" of add to cart, but is really a dedicated cross-selling page.

With this extension, your OpenCart store can do the same! When a customer hits Add to Cart from a product page, the extension takes her to a so-called "Added to Cart" page, which confirms that the product has been added to cart, and displays Amazon-style cross-selling/up-selling modules such as "Customers who bought x, also bought y". And since these cross-selling features are set up as OpenCart "modules", therefore you can mix and match them, and use or ignore each as per your needs.

Additionally, this extension also makes available Amazon-like "Often bought together" module for your product page.

Features
  • Automatic Redirect to Cross-Sell: When a customer clicks "Add to Cart" from a product page, the product is added to cart and she is re-directed to a confirmation page "Added to Cart"

  • Intelligent Redirection: The redirection to Added to Cart is context-sensitive. It happens only when the Add to Cart button has been pressed on the product page. For Add to Cart buttons on listings pages, such as category or manufacturer pages, the customer is not re-directed, because she may want to add more products from that category or manufacturer to the cart.
  • Module: Frequently bought with X: What other products are commonly in the same order as X?

  • Module: Customers who bought X also bought: What other products are commonly bought by customers who buy X? (not necessarily in the same order)

  • Module: Recommended for you based on X : Product recommendations made salient.

  • Module: Often bought together: Encourage the customer to buy a bundle of products, without actually lowering the price. This module for the product page adds multiple products to cart with one click!

  • Intelligent Placement: "Frequently bought with X", "", and "" are meant for the "Added to Cart" page. "Often bought together" is meant for the product page. They will appear only if added to these respective pages. If added to other pages by mistake (or because you are trying to minimize separate layouts), they just don't appear on the other pages.
Made for

  2. Go to

    Code: Select all

    Design > Layouts

  2. Does this extension work with Journal 2 theme? Yes!
  3. Does this extension work with OpenCart 3.x? Yes.
  4. Does this extension work with OpenCart 1.x/2.x? No. And no plans either.
  5. I don't see any products in "frequently bought together", etc. If you have a new store, then it will take a few orders before this feature starts working properly...it needs some data to learn.
  6. I have an idea. Great! Post it as a reply to this thread[/url].
  7. I am having a problem with this extension. Please click Get Support on this page.
