Hi Qahar,

My issue is still not addressed where the top links of the menu navigation is not clickable. Please can you indicate where the code is generated so that I can add the class disabled to the hyperlink in the top menu

Sorry, I must be missed that.
I'm bit confuse with your question. You want the top menu (with children) clickable or disable them?

If you look at my page http://www.holisticwellbeing.co.za the parent category links (e.g. Skin Care) are not clickable. If I add the class disabled to the hyperlink <a href the problem is solved but I do not know where the code is generated from.

So to answer your question I want the top category links to be clickable

You use Gearbox to create navigation, so the file is theme\default\template\module\gearbox\navigation_navbar.tpl

I check your navigation code and it's same to my test, but somehow your link is not clickable.

HI there @qahar , thanks for the nice theme, bu I have a problem:

I add Another navigation using the Gearbox menu, and Add all the items, then I add the module to the main manu in the All Page Layout, but it simply doesn't show up. But when I try to add the Demo menu it works, I checked many times to see If I done something wrong, but it seams all Ok and looking just like the DEmo Navigation!!

What about navigation items? does all of them enabled?
What about the item tree structure?

Since the demo nav is work, I'm only able to give you suggest to recheck it.

I LOVE this theme - I used to use Journal2 but I actually prefer this for ease of use . . . however I can't get the top nave to work - the drop-down categories don't have labels - see here (http://www.westernbrides.com). See screenshots . . .

Thanks and really great job! ~Erica

I agree 100% and LOVE this theme too. The nav menus can be tricky - I finally figured out it after studying the example one over and over again :)

I will try to describe it below - the trick is putting things in the right order and indenting things properly to set up the child relationships correctly.

Code: Select all

Main category (ex Jewelry)
Container (chose the size you need. ex 3 - 555 px)
              Row
Grid (choose the size you need. ex 50%)
                           Subcat 1
                           Subcat 2
                   Grid 50%
                           Subcat 3
                           Subcat 4
2nd Main Category, etc....
Hope this helps :) Once you get the hang of it, it is quick and easy.

Just noticed a weird things with the menus since I updated the theme. Look at gothicplus (dot) com for example and if you rollover the menus, it is not dropping down properly and adding a scroll bar. Not sure why or how to fix that one :(

Have you try to add demo navigation to All Page Layout?

The first version was much simpler. No row and grid, only choose container (dropdown width). But it's have limitation.
Adopting Grid from bootstrap we can add multiple row with different grid width in one container.

Checking your site I found .layout-wrapper is closed too early by </div>

Your html structure:

Code: Select all

.layout-wrapper
    #toolbar-top
    #site-header
    #nav-main
(found </div> so .layout-wrapper closed to early here)
.container
#footer
Should be:

Code: Select all

.layout-wrapper
    #toolbar-top
    #site-header
    #nav-main
    .container
    #footer
I suggest you to compare your customization template with the default2 template, specially header.tpl and footer.tpl.

Ah thanks for the tip! It was something in the header. Haven't figured out what yet but I restored the original one and it solved the problem. Now to track it down.

Fixed that issue, though cannot seem to get the category thumbnails to behave and align correctly. Probably missing something simple again :( https://www.mysticconvergence (dot) com/home-decor-boxes is an example.

Question for you. When you update the template, do I need to redo all the template_child templates I created? I think perhaps that this is my issue. When I updated your template files, I kept the template_child folder from the previous version which is where I think these little issues are coming from.

What is the correct method to update your files including gearbox and the framework? I also noticed it lost my custom code settings in the themes when I did the upgrade so wondering if that is normal or if I did something wrong.

Using the template_child is the correct method to customize theme template.
When updating the theme, you need to check all templates in template_child for possible updates. The simple way would be use file comparison software for files in template folder between current and new version. So you know quickly what template is changed.

Presets reset on updates is also my concern. I plan to separating preset into default and custom preset. Default preset provided by theme is cannot customized, but possible to be "save as copy" for creating custom copy. On updating we will reset only default preset to keep them updated with theme change. And custom preset will automatically fallback to default value until they saved again.

Okay great. I think I have fixed it better now and solved the little problems I was having.

That would be great with the presents. I've been going back thru and refixing them but didn't realize it lost them at first. at least my custom menus in gearbox didn't get lost - that would have been major pain! I really love how well your theme works for multistores and the gearbox menus. I do wish you could put an image in the menu dropdown - would be my only suggestion to make it even better :) But being able to create a custom menu for each store without having to do a separate template copy and manually edit the headers is a HUGE plus!
