Ups Module

This is a little confusing. When I have a customer that orders say 1 shirt from me I usually pack it in a ups envelope. If someone orders multiple shirts and other products I can't fit them in an envelope... but the module doesn't recognize that there are more products therefore I need a bigger envelope or box. Is it possible for the module to realize that There is more than one product and change the shipping price based on what container I am using?
