please consider some ways of batch edit of the categories or the products and the move of them in some other categories.

Please take a look of way this function is implemented with cs-cart at http://demo.cs-cart.com/admin.php

Of course i understand that cs-cart is a commercial product, but some of the futures and the way it does on some actions are among the best i have see.

So please don't tell a simple "this looks like OC! " but take a look on http://demo.cs-cart.com/admin.php (user = pass = "demo"), spent some time and help with your opinion to move the development of opencart forward and make it among the best carts.

Much of that can easily be done using the free import/export add-on and simple editing of the csv file.

I have not visited CS cart forum for 6 months or so, but gave up thinking about it when I could not even get answers to things such as auto-updating currency values, which OC does and CS does not. It does not even have a button the admin can click to get updates, they have to be done by hand.

It also does not apply quantity discounts to size or color options of the same item. Say a tee shirt that says 1 for 10, 3 for 9, 6 for 8. If you choose 3 reds, or 6 XL you get the discounts. But if you chose 1 red, 1 blue and 1 green you do not, same with sizes, mix the sizes and you forgo the discounts.

Would you buy a tee shirt at a B&M store that advertised those discounts and would not let you mix colors on the exact same item? I doubt it.

You certainly would not think well of them or even go back if they treated you that way.

But i didn't say that cs-cart is the best cart.

And don't tell cs-cart don't do that or OC do this.

If i tell that cs-cart don't have multistore option or it's support is so & so and it cost money, do this change the fact that i like the way it handles the products and categories?

I will never open a flame between carts.

The subject of the thread is "future requests" and not "best cart".

I like the way cs-cart handles products in admin mode. I find the way of OC very limited. I suggest to developers a better way. Is it better?

And if you like to do exports and edits on csv files then do it. It's your preference and your opinion. Fine. But personally i think that you must spent your energy giving your opinion on the title of the subject aka "batch edit of" and not for "auto-updating currency values".

i agree.. actually the way they let you choose fields was something I was going to add to my old product batch edit but never did. I agree tho, there is some quick add/edit stuff that would really make the product/category list pages more useful.

Yes, please. Even a basic quick edit function - say price and quantity -would be a big help, as discussed here Feature Request - Product View in Admin. Thanks to nicudica and cevarief for their mods. I think it would do well in the core too.

Choosing fields would be icing on the cake, but could wait for later.
