Updating Filter Counts

I have searched high and low and not found anyone else requesting this, it may already exist and if so I would be stoked to be pointed in the correct direction. I am trying to find a way for my filter to update the count of items available each time I narrow my search. For instance I have 30 items, 15 and black and 15 are white, while 10 are square, and only 5 are black and square. When I select the black filter I want it to change the count next to square to only 5 once the filter is activated. I find the way the filter counts currently are can be a bit confusing as to what items are available. Websites using other forms of ecommerce have this feature such as http://www.newegg.com and I think it would be a great feature. If someone can create this please make it compatible with 2.2 or I will have to update if that is what is needed of me. Thanks in advance for even reading this long drawn out ramble!
