Just installed the 2.2.0.0 release as it seem the cart functionality forces the issue to create an account while the framework core file already provides many options for merchants based on different subjects. Idealistically, since the session ID is already being logged into the cart database table, it would be great to have the addition to select from store-based option either to force or allow guest cart entries to the table by validating the time-to-live of the session ID field when the guest option is being selected on the admin-end. The verification could be added into the controller/startup folder in order to free or to move old data from the cart table towards a cart report table after a specific mount of time. If being moved, a detailed report could be created in the admin so for the merchant to compare sales versus not saled products.

The date field is already added into the cart table. This enquiry should not be a difficult approach to consider as it would require only an additional controller to load automatically on the platform.

The checkout or API orders should have the same functionality regarding the session ID expiry time in order to avoid a huge mount of leftovers. This would also help avoiding duplicated orders.
